Best time Fine Hard season

Portugal is recommended to be visited between April and October. During this period, the weather is usually warm and sunny, and the decrease in crowds makes your travel experience more enjoyable. In the summer months, especially in July and August, tourist density increases. Therefore, spring and autumn months are the most suitable time frame.

Season by season

Spring

April and May are Lisbon’s best months: flowering avenues, trams before the crowds.

Summer

August is crowded and expensive in Lisbon and the Algarve. Porto stays cooler in summer.

Autumn

September and October are safe: the sea is still swimmable and the Douro harvests.

Winter

Mild and rainy. Lisbon still walks well in winter; Porto is grey but its table is at its best.
