Neighbourhoods

Which one for whom?

Why Kyoto?

A temple path wants a morning. Keep the afternoon for a neighborhood, and end early at a ryokan table.

Kyoto pays you more clearly than most cities for an early start. You can walk the lower gates of Fushimi Inari before eight. Those same steps at noon are a different sport.

Why Santorini?

Stay two nights. Give one to walking, one to the sea, and the hours between them to a single terrace.

The Santorini postcard is taken in Oia, and it ends there if you give that terrace the whole day. The island is wider: a cove, a walk, and a lunch that is not selling you a view.
